“Pie Pastry”

 

1 ½ C. sifted cake flour

¼ t. salt

½ C. lard or shortening

¼ C. cold water

 

1) In a medium bowl, combine flour & salt.  Cut in lard or shortening till the mixture resembles crumbs.

 

2) Add water & stir till dough is just moistened.  Form the dough into a ball.  On a floured surface, flatten dough and put into a pie pan.  This makes one 9 “ to 10” pie.
