PIE PASTRY

 

1 ½ C. sifted cake flour

¼ t. salt

½ C. lard or shortening

¼ C. cold water

 

In a medium bowl, combine flour and salt.  Using a pastry blender or a fork, cut in lard or shortening until the mixture resembles crumbs.

 

Add water and stir until dough is just moistened.  Form into a ball.

 

Makes 1 – 9 inch pie

½ t. thyme

½ t. rosemary

½ t. sage

½ t. marjoram

½ t. basil

½ t. fennel

½ t. mint

½ t. oregano

 

Sprinkle on pizza, pasta, etc.

¾ c. sugar

2/3 C. vinegar

1/3 C. oil

1 t. salt

1 t. pepper

 

1 bag shredded cabbage
